Pidherny has become one of the most popular year-round recreation destinations in the Prince George area and the popularity of the site continues to grow! The increased popularity and visitation, together with evolving recreation demands, have led to growing management issues and concerns.

In response, the Prince George Cycling Club, in partnership with the City of Prince George and support from Recreation Sites and Trails BC, has initiated the development of a recreation and access management plan (RAMP) for Pidherny. 

We thank you in advance for taking the time to help inform the planning process. The information you share through this survey will help us prepare a RAMP.

Grounded in good research, analysis, and meaningful public, stakeholder, government, and Indigenous engagement, the purpose of the strategy is to:

Stage 2 Engagement – Draft Recreation and Access Management Plan Review

The PGCC is grateful to everyone who took the time to share their ideas during our first stage of engagement. The PGCC team, with support from Recreation Sites and Trails BC and the City of Prince George, have been hard a work and the Draft Recreation and Access Management Plan is now ready for public review.

Anyone with an interest in Pidherny and the future of our recreation site is invited to participate in the process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Anyone with an interest in Pidherny, the trails, recreation uses, or civic engagement in the Prince George area. 

We are looking at two locations: 

  • Official Pidherny Rec Site (these are the sanctioned trails within the polygon)
  • Unsanctioned trails on the adjacent crown land (these are the trails southeast of the rec site, often referred to as the Tool Circuit)

20-25 minutes depending how detailed your responses are.

You are encouraged to answer each question. For data analysis purposes, only some of the questions are mandatory.

The information you provide (along with other sources of information and technical expertise) will be used by the Prince George Cycling Club, the City of Prince George, and Recreation Sites and Trails British Columbia to inform the development of the Recreation and Access Management Plan.

Your participation in this survey is completely voluntary and you may choose not to participate or end your participation at any time. There are no known risks to participation in this survey. Please note that there are no incentives or inducements associated with participation in this survey.

The information you provide through this survey is collected under the authority of, and managed in accordance with, the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. The information you provide will be used by the Prince George Cycling Club, the City of Prince George, and Recreation Sites and Trails British Columbia to inform the development of the Recreation and Access Management Plan. Survey data will be stored electronically on the contractor’s secure server and deleted one year after the completion of the project.

Input received will be aggregated and summarized anonymously in a What We Heard Report. At no time will any specific comments be attributed to attributed to a specific survey respondent.

Please do not provide any personal information in the survey that can allow you to be identified. Any personal information you provide will not be disclosed for any other purpose than stated without your specific written consent or unless required by law to do so.
