Go By Bike Week
The Prince George Cycling Club has been hosting Go By Bike (formerly Bike to Work/School Week) for Prince George since 2010! The Prince George Cycling Club continues to have successful events because of all the community support that we receive from our board members, volunteers, and of course local businesses and organizations that partner with us to bring this great event to Prince George!
How does Go By Bike work? It’s easy! The first thing to do is to go to https://logmyride.gobybikebc.ca/ and register. Every ride counts. To the park? Riding to work? Headed to school? Every ride outside counts and each ride logged gets you entered into provincial prizes. We also try to recognize business’s and spaces that support cycling. We do this with our Celebration Stations. Check the schedule to see where they will be. Ride down, meet fellow riders. Chat bikes. Usually snacks are not far and also, just have some fun riding bikes.
Want to take things a little bit further? Create a team! Challenge another team or business. And remember school counts too! Every ride outside. Register or join your team or school today! We also have lots of retired, unemployed, self-employed, and home-based business people join in the fun! Kilometers ridden while shopping for supplies or attending meetings can count towards your solo team’s kilometers too! Get creative. This event is all about getting out there and biking! Its also incredibly important to show the province we are out here choosing an alternative form of transportation.
